I
Write the Story of the Little Flower Gathered by Jesus (1895)
At the urging of her Mother Prioress, St. Theresa began writing her autobiography.
It is written with such simple eloquence and exudes such joy and love of Christ
that it would be an inspiration to even the most hardened reader. To the faithful
it could bring tears to the eyes and thankfulness for having in the heart some
small measure of the faith described in her writings.
In the window she is shown in her habit at a writing desk that is typical of
her period. She holds a plume, which may not have been the writing instrument
she used, but is often used to symbolize sacred writings in liturgical art.
