Canonization
of Pope Pius XI (May 17, 1925)
Declared a Saint on the same occasion as St. John Vianney, the two are shown
in portraits hanging behind the Pope. His hadn is raised as though making a
proclamation. A group of cardinals looks on in appreciation of the devotions
and miracles attributed to the intercession of St. Theresa. Her canonization
serves as an example to all of us that even ordinary people may achieve greatness
through the discharge of daily duties in a perfected spirit of love for God.
